We have a wide selection of hand-made Brooms and Besoms in our shop in various sizes and styles, individually hand-fashioned in the ways of the old crafters. Ours are constructed in traditional ways using bundles of straw tied to a stout wooden branch or rustic pole. As a result of its construction around a central shaft, the brush of the besom is generally rounded instead of flat (although we carry both). Besoms are the brooms traditionally associated with witches, one of the tools used to cleanse ritual areas before circle casting, and sometimes thought to be involved with fairies. The besom is part of handfasting ceremonies in some traditions, where the couple jumps over it during the ceremony. Because of their individualities and difficulties associated with shipping items this length, these are only available for purchase in our shop - hopefully you'll drop by to see our selection. These will be perfect for your ritual use or for decorating your kitchen, hearth, or other special space!
